How Our Eco-Friendly Ceramics Are Made
Behind each of our ceramic pieces lies a carefully considered production process – shaped by traditional craftsmanship and modern manufacturing standards. We combine time-honored techniques with contemporary methods to create products that are both durable and stylish.
Our core philosophy is simple: sustainability and quality are inseparable. Every product is designed to meet the highest standards of aesthetics while preserving and protecting our planet’s natural resources.
Clay Selection: High-Quality and Recycled Materials
The process begins with the selection of suitable clay materials. We focus on high-quality raw materials that are ideal for creating strong and long-lasting ceramics. Sustainability and resource efficiency play a central role: at PandaCeramic, we use a clay blend made of 50% recycled materials to reduce waste and make better use of existing resources. This step reflects our commitment to responsible, eco-conscious production.
Shaping: Unique Ceramic Pieces
Once the materials are selected, the shaping process begins. Each item is either hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel or cast in custom-made molds. These techniques ensure that every piece has its own unique character – a true expression of authentic craftsmanship.
Drying: Foundation of Lasting Quality
Before firing, each piece must be dried thoroughly. This gradual and even removal of moisture can take several days and is essential for preventing cracks or deformation during the firing process. Careful drying ensures the final product is robust and stable.
Bisque Firing: Building Structural Strength
In the first firing, known as bisque firing, the ceramic is heated to around 900 to 1000°C. This step gives the piece its initial strength and prepares it for glazing. It ensures that the final product can withstand the demands of daily use.
Glazing: Functionality Meets Aesthetics
The glaze adds both beauty and function to the product. It protects the surface, making the ceramic resistant to external influences and dishwasher-safe. Various application techniques – such as dipping, spraying, or brushing – allow for delicate color transitions and unique surface textures.
Final Firing: Completion at 1300°C
The final firing, also known as glaze firing, takes place at temperatures up to 1300°C. This process gives the ceramic its finished strength and the characteristic glossy surface expected of high-quality ceramic goods.
Sustainability: Responsibility in Every Step
At every stage of production, we focus on both material excellence and environmental responsibility. Energy-efficient kilns reduce power consumption, and excess clay is recycled to minimize waste. We also use sustainable transport solutions to reduce CO₂ emissions. Our production facility is certified according to international standards such as GRS, BSCI, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and FAMA – ensuring the highest environmental and quality benchmarks.
Every PandaCeramic piece is crafted with care and a clear commitment to sustainability – from the initial clay selection to the final high-temperature firing. The result is durable, environmentally friendly, and beautifully designed ceramics that enrich your home.
